That’s exactly what Frank Oliver (Store Manager of Wal-Mart Supercenter in Fort Myers, FL) did when he began using our employee of the month program. In the recording of the call below, you’ll hear Frank talk about the observable benefits of choosing to recognize the top members on his staff.

Here’s the transcript from Frank’s call
“Associates like when they get those awards. It’s a huge deal. It would have to be to one of my department managers that we gave out [an award to], which was crazy because when we gave it to her, it was unanimous. Everybody stood up and clapped for her. It was something she wasn’t expecting, it was an emotional thing for her, because she had never gotten an award before. It was a good thing, I like doing it, I like being a part of those, and seeing those things.
Just doing this is one step above and makes it that much better. I think the biggest thing it does overall is it helps with associate appreciation. The ones that get them go out and do a good job. I have to say you can see a difference in the work habits from those that do receive [awards].”
