“Everyone wants it”


We recently caught up with Michaela, the general manager of Fairfield Inn located in Clovis, New Mexico. Michaela shared her thoughts about the impact of the monthly recognition program we’ve been helping her run.

Since taking over as GM in 2017, Michaela has noticed our recognition program to be a great motivator for everybody on her team. The primary criteria for the winner of each month’s award is this: “Who’s been extra helpful/the most hardworking individual this month?” Michaela says, “everyone wants it”. Because of this, somebody different wins each month. Now that’s a good competition!

When you’re clear about what it takes to be recognized as the hardest or most helpful worker each month, everyone on your team will be able to put forward their best effort in achieving that top spot. Michaela has done a great job of consistently appreciating and recognizing those who deserve it, and she even says the program has encouraged employees to unify as a team.
